Vallarta Supermarkets Celebrates Unveiling of the Mexican National Soccer Team Jersey with Storefront Mural sponsored by Adidas

Vallarta Supermarkets, one of the largest Latino-owned supermarket chains in California, and global sportswear brand adidas unveiled a storefront mural inspired by Latino heritage and “Rosa Mexicano” the new Mexico national soccer team jersey unveiled in Mexico City that features glyph designs in that shade of pink prominent in Mexican art, architecture and textiles. The theme of the mural builds on adidas’ campaign Solos, Jamás (Never Alone), which highlights community, cultural roots and unity.

The mural is visibly located outside of Vallarta Supermarkets’ Boyle Heights location on Whittier Blvd near S. Lorena St. and is designed by Los Angeles native Robert Vargas. His “Pasión y Sueños” mural “is all about the power of sport, through the human spirit and unity in the community during these times.”

The Solos, Jamás campaign from adidas also includes video content on adidas.com/losangeles featuring local Mexico team fans, one of which will include a Vallarta Team Member. “Solos, Jamás is a celebration deeply rooted in culture and family, collectively united by the passion for the Mexico national team,” said Timothy Nickloff, Director, Key City Activation, Los Angeles, adidas. “Our partnership with Vallarta, an important member of the Los Angeles community, is one component of this campaign which also includes a donation by the US Soccer Foundation to Think Together, a non-profit that partners with schools to change the odds for kids.”

The mural is located at Vallarta’s Boyle Heights location at 3425 Whittier Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90023.
