About the Role

The Assistant Shelf Edge Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Shelf Edge Department, helping ensure accurate pricing, signage, and product labeling throughout the store. This role assists with inventory accuracy, production planning, planogram compliance, and system management while supporting audits and promotional changes. The Assistant Shelf Edge Coordinator also helps train and guide team members to ensure integrity, compliance, and extraordinary service.

What You’ll Do

  • Smile and greet customers and team members while delivering extraordinary service.
  • Model Vallarta’s Core Values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.
  • Support execution of shelf edge programs, including price changes, promotional signage, and weekly updates.
  • Assist with ordering and creating shelf tags to maintain accurate pricing across all departments.
  • Verify displayed items are accurately priced and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with Country-of-Origin Labeling (COOL) and WIC identification requirements.
  • Confirm that sales and promotional changes are reflected in tags and signage.
  • Support planogram audits and ensure products are properly labeled and placed.
  • Conduct expiration date audits and rotate products as needed.
  • Operate handheld devices and printers for pricing, tagging, and invoicing.
  • Process invoices, credits, and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Perform cycle counts, audit, and help maintain perpetual inventory accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve pricing or replenishment issues.
  • Enforce company safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance in all work areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk constantly (6–8+ hours/day).
  • Frequently bend neck/waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Frequent repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Heaviest item required to carry: 20 lbs., up to 5 feet.
  • Work near equipment and machinery.
  • Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, noise, and temperature/humidity changes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Friendly, customer-oriented personality with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to perform math calculations related to pricing and inventory.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ retail or supermarket experience required.
  • Shelf edge, pricing, or signage experience preferred.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Willingness to transfer to other store locations as needed.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
