About the Role
The RPI 3rd Shift (8:00 PM – 4:00 AM) Order Selector/Auditor is responsible for accurately selecting orders placed by Vallarta stores, safely staging them for shipment, and auditing outbound products to minimize errors before delivery. This role uses electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and voice-pick systems in refrigerated environments (as low as 33°F).
Order Selectors/Auditors ensure orders are built, shrink-wrapped, labeled, and staged correctly while performing full audits or spot checks. This position plays a vital role in maintaining operational accuracy and efficiency while modeling Vallarta’s core values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.
What You’ll Do
- Select, build, shrink-wrap, and stage orders using pallet jacks, reach trucks, or forklifts.
- Verify order accuracy with voice-pick or pick sheets and system labels.
- Audit outbound products, checking SKUs, quantities, and damage.
- Report discrepancies, damages, variances, and audit findings to management.
- Complete daily equipment checklists for pallet jacks, forklifts, and reach trucks.
- Ensure all orders are accurate, properly labeled, and damage-free.
- Repack orders when necessary.
- Maintain warehouse housekeeping and comply with OSHA, safety, and food safety regulations.
- Greet vendors and team members courteously while modeling Vallarta’s six steps of extraordinary service.
- Report unsafe acts, conditions, or equipment immediately.
- Foster teamwork and support training of team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Constant bending (neck/waist), standing and walking (6–8+ hrs/day).
- Frequent squatting, twisting neck/waist.
- Constant use of hands for grasping, pulling/pushing, and fine manipulation.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Heaviest item: 75 lbs.; longest distance: 15 ft. (buddy system required for 51+ lbs. and full pallets).
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Work in refrigerated environments (as low as 33°F).
- Exposure to noise, equipment/machinery, and varying temperatures/humidity.

- Accurate counting and basic math skills.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Material handling equipment certification (required after hire).
- RF and/or voice technology experience a plus.
- Food distribution experience preferred but not required.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
